The White Sox are going to hold a pregame moment of silence for the late Bobby Jenks before Monday night's game. Moreover, they will be wearing a '45' patch on their jerseys for the rest of the season.
"We've got the reunion coming up here shortly, and, it'll be nice to have a lot of those guys around and tell stories about Bobby Jenks and the impact that that he made on this organization," said Chris Getz. "He'll be dearly missed. You know, I'm just happy that I was able to play with him, because he really was a special person."
Getz noted that it's been especially tough to lose both Jenks and Octavio Dotel in recent months.
MLB Network will be replaying Game 4 of the 2005 World Series at noon on Tuesday as a tribute to Jenks. Just in case you're some weirdo who doesn't own the whole series on DVD.

Ryan Noda was placed on the injured list with a right quad strain. While veteran infielder Tristan Gray, recently added to the 40-man roster, was recalled to take Noda's place, Miguel Vargas is expected to get the bulk of the playing time at first base going forward.
Luis Robert Jr. was a full participant in pregame activities, shagging fly balls and taking batting practice. The White Sox are planning on activating him from the IL without a rehab assignment, and Robert is already eligible to return from his left hamstring strain.
Davis Martin (forearm strain) is expected to have a rehab start for Triple-A Charlotte later this week. That ensures he won't pitch in the majors until after the All-Star break, but that was where it was already trending.

While Colson Montgomery played a little third base at Charlotte, and Chase Meidroth graded out well at shortstop here, Montgomery is going to keep playing short everyday at the outset of his big league career.
"As far as these first few games for Colson, I think to get him on-boarded and comfortable with this first stretch, I think it is important for him to spend some time at just short," Will Venable said. "At the same time, knowing Chase, we want him to play all over the field and having him at short is gonna be something that's important as well. So for the next few days, I think it'll be mostly Colson at short, but you'll see Chase over there too."

Shane Smith is trying to appreciate the honor of making the All-Star team even amid his toughest stretch of the season. It's going just OK.
"I didn't soak it in yesterday after the outing," Smith said. "Kind of took me to get home, off of the flight and to really sit with it. Just the way things have been going really hasn't — you know, gettin' punched in the face every couple of days, it's tough to kind of realize the body of work that you've done over the last couple of months. But I think I've just got to take the good with the bad. You know, realize that I've been struggling, but also realize kind of the body of work that, you know, the first 10, 11 starts was."
