Good morning!
With the very sad news of the passing of Bobby Jenks last week, it felt fitting to give a tribute to a closer so many of us appreciated, both during the '05 run and in the years following.
Jenks is one of just six White Sox relievers since 1990 to:
- Post an ERA of 3.00 or below;
- Appear in at least 25 games, all in relief, and;
- Achieve that type of season at least three times.
He's also the only Sox reliever in franchise history to log 40 saves in multiple seasons, let alone back-to-back (2006 and 2007). While it's unfortunate and disappointing he couldn't have had a longer career --let alone with the White Sox-- his memory will linger on in the memories of countless Sox fans. Rest in peace, Bobby Jenks: we'll always be able to smile fondly at the thought of your World Series call from the bullpen.

Useless information to amaze, annoy, confuse, and/or confound your friends and family:
- Jenks' 2007 season has the fourth-lowest WHIP among pitchers on this list, 0.892.
- Jenks has the second-most saves in franchise history, with 173.
- Those 173 saves are 76th-most among all pitchers in MLB history. Not too shabby at all!
