The combination of a change of scenery and a Triple-A refresher has worked wonders for Andrew Vaughn. He's 4-for-10 with a pair of homers and six RBIs in his first four games with the Brewers after Milwaukee promoted him from Nashville last week to fill in for an injured Rhys Hoskins.
That combination didn't quite do the same thing for Eloy Jiménez, whose Tampa Bay chapter can now be referred to in the past tense. He signed a minor-league deal with the Rays last December and showed up to spring training in better shape and with a vow of "you guys are going to see," but he never cracked the major league roster. Instead, he hit .256/.330/.360 with just three homers over 48 minor league games around multiple stints on the injured list. The Rays reinstated him from his latest turn on the IL on Friday, then released him.
