Braden Montgomery is onto his third level of the season, as the White Sox announced that he's being promoted to Birmingham in advance of this week's series against Rocket City.
Montgomery hit .260/.348/.445 with eight homers, three triples and 17 doubles over 69 games with Winston-Salem, and he closed out the High-A portion of his season on a hot streak. In eight games since the All-Star break, Montgomery is 10-for-28 with w triple, three doubles and six walks against seven strikeouts. He went into the break slumping, so it appears the eight-day break -- with the exception of his appearance in the Futures Game -- served him well.
